On October 30 and 31, the 18th Black Sea Tourism Forum was held under the theme “The Position of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast on the International Tourism Market – Challenges and Perspectives”.
The event, organized by the Varna Chamber of Tourism in partnership with Varna Municipality and the Ministry of Tourism, brought together representatives from the tourism industry, government institutions, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions.
Sunny Day Resort was represented by Denitsa Koleva, the resort’s Commercial Director, whose presentation focused on the German tourism market, its characteristics, and expectations. She shared successful practices from Sunny Day Resort’s experience and provided examples of how the resort adapts to the needs and preferences of German guests. In her speech, Mrs. Koleva outlined current trends in the region’s development, emphasizing the importance of increasing the competitiveness of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast through innovative approaches, sustainable solutions, and a high standard of service.
The forum highlighted the need for Varna and other Black Sea destinations to reposition and develop themselves as year-round tourist centers—not only for seaside tourism but also for cultural, event, sports, medical, and wellness tourism.
The second day of the event continued with the panel “Youth Visions – The Future is Creative”, which included students and pupils from the University of Economics – Varna, the College of Tourism, the National School of Humanities and Arts “Konstantin Preslavski”, and the Vocational High School of Tourism “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”.
